SHORT-HAIRED BLUE BURMESE
From one particular line of breeding, Blue
Burmese began to appear in many litters and was granted recognition.
It is very popular, being shown in large numbers. The general
characteristics are as given for the Brown, but the colour
is as follows:
Body colour of the adult should be predominantly
bluish grey, with a little fawn, darker on the back, shading
to pale fawn or grey on the belly, the overall effect being
a warm colour, with a silver sheen to the coat. The tail the
same colour as the back, no white or tabby markings. Ears,
mask and feet shading to silver grey. Kittens lighter in colour
with more fawn in the coat.
The Burmese are now being bred in a variety of colours, as
follows:
Chocolate Burmese
Lilac Burmese
Red Burmese
Tortie Burmese
Cream Burmese
Blue-Cream Burmese
Chocolate Tortie Burmese
Lilac Cream Burmese
All these Burmese should have similar
characteristics, differing only in coat colour.
