SHORT HAIRED CATS
SHORT-HAIRED SIAMESE.TABBY-POINTED
Known for a number of years as Shadow-pointed
or Lynx-pointed, this attractive variety has now been granted
recognition under the name of Tabby-pointed/ if differs from
all other Siamese in that striped markings of a distinctive
silver colour replace the more or less solid colour points.
The general body colour should be pale cream and free from
markings. The type is usually good, and its graceful appearance
has caught the public’s fancy, the kittens being much
in demand.
Standard
Type As for Seal-pointed Siamese.
Colour Restricted to points as in all Siamese,
basic Seal, blue, chocolate,
lilac and tortoiseshell.
General body
colour Pale coat, preferably free from body markings and conforming
to recognised Siamese standard for the particular colour of
points.
Ears Solid, no stripes. Thumb mark, except in
the Tortie Tabby points,
ears should be mottled red and/or cream as in the Tortie point
Siamese.
Nose
Leather Conforming to recognised Siamese standard for the
particular colour
of points, or pink.
Mask Clearly defined stripes, especially around
the eyes and nose. Distinct markings on cheeks, darkly spotted
whisker pads.
Eyes Brilliant clear blue. The lids dark rimmed
or toning with the points.
Legs Varied sized broken stripes, solid markings
on back of hind legs. In Tortie Tabbypoints some mingled red
and/or cream patching on legs.
Tail Varied size clearly defined rings ending
in a solid tip.
Pads Mottled in Tortie Tabbypoints.
